In this display, you are invited into one of the most intimate and heart-wrenching moments in the life of Jesus.
The Garden of Gethsemane was not just a peaceful place of prayer — it became the setting of Christ’s greatest spiritual agony. Knowing the suffering that awaited Him, Jesus withdrew to this quiet place with His disciples. He fell to the ground and cried out to the Father, asking if the cup of suffering might pass — yet choosing full obedience, He said:
“Not My will, but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42)
“My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death… Stay here and keep watch with me.”
— Matthew 26:38 (NIV)
This garden was not a place of escape, but of surrender. It is where Jesus chose obedience over comfort, and love over self-preservation. As you stand in this space, reflect on the depth of Christ’s love — a love that said “yes” to the cross so we could be redeemed.
— where Jesus chose the cross out of love for you and me. It reminds us that God understands sorrow, fear, and the cost of obedience. Yet in that garden, Jesus also showed us that surrender to God’s will brings ultimate victory and purpose.
When you feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or afraid, remember: Jesus has walked that path. And He chose to walk it — for you.
Is there an area of your life where God is calling you to trust Him more deeply?
Like Jesus in the garden, we are each invited to say, “Not my will, but Yours be done.” In that surrender, we find strength, peace, and the assurance that God’s plan is always good.
